  • Tuva Halse Quintet

With a captivating atmosphere and gripping interplay, Tuva Halse Quintet draws you into their lyrical universe from the first note. The quintet consists of five exciting and up-and-coming musicians from the Norwegian jazz scene, known from various projects such as Bento Box Trio, Bliss Quintet and I LIKE TO SLEEP. The music is based on violinist Tuva Halse's compositions, which in their melodious character are drawn from the melancholic and sentimental to the intense and insistent. The result is a distinctive and expressive expression in a universe full of contrasts. The debut album “Two” was released in October 2023 on Jazzland Recordings, and has later received recognition both nationally and internationally, including several great reviews (read here).

Bento Box Trio is an acoustic trio consisting of three young jazz musicians from Norway and Iceland. Since meeting at the Jazz Conservatory in Trondheim in 2019, they have cooperated closely working with the acoustic soundscape, the unique instrumentation and with free improvisation in melodic tunes. Their music draws impulses from classical and contemporary music as well as free jazz, and the trio has already played at many of the biggest jazz scenes in Norway. In September 2022 they released their debut album «Boxed», receiving good reviews describing the music as “an astonishing curiosity” (indiemusic) and “an immediate pleasure” (Jazznytt). The sophomore album “Somehow I Lost My Way”, featuring Mats Eilertsen and Sissel Vera Pettersen, will be released September 2024.
